In 2024, the 1000 Miglia brings together over 440 of the most beautiful classic cars on the planet for a sublime journey on the transalpine roads, starting and ending in Brescia. And for the 37th consecutive year, it’s Chopard that is the official timekeeper and global sponsor of “the most beautiful race in the world”.
Like every year, the Swiss brand takes this opportunity to unveil a special edition watch… and even two for the 2024 vintage!
Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph: Inspired by the Checkered Flag!
The annual Chopard watch for the Mille Miglia is a must for all watchmaking and automotive enthusiasts. The 2024 edition is of course no exception, with the Classic Chronograph once again paying a vibrant tribute to the spirit of competition.
More concretely, it features a new 40.5 mm case, crafted in Lucent Steel™, an exclusive Chopard steel made up of at least 80% recycled materials. The brand explains that this material offers exceptional robustness while perfectly reflecting light.
On the “La Gara” dial, inspired by the famous black and white checkered flag (and which offers a nice reinterpretation of the classic panda watch), we obviously find the red icon of the Mille Miglia as well as elegant stylized Arabic numerals. Surrounded by a tachymetric scale, it remains very readable, well aided in this by the “glass box” which offers maximum openness.
To make the engine of this watch hum, Chopard has integrated into the case its automatic winding chronograph movement, certified chronometer by the COSC and equipped with a 54 hour power reserve.
The range of this watch is completed by a perforated black calf leather strap, reminiscent of traditional driving gloves. A classic of the Mille Miglia according to Chopard!
Mille Miglia GTS Chrono: the essence of racing
For thrill-seekers, Chopard unveils a watch with an even more sporty look, the Mille Miglia GTS Chrono. This limited edition of 100 pieces stands out with its imposing 44 mm case in grade 2 titanium, a material known for its lightness and resistance to shocks and corrosion.
Here, the watch’s design combines shades of black and grey with touches of red, reminiscent of the instruments of classic racing cars. The grey dial, adorned with black counters, is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, while its grained texture seems to evoke the asphalt on which the Mille Miglia speedsters move.
Several other details remind us that this watch is inspired by racing, like the case back engraved with a checkered flag, the arrowed logo of the 1000 Miglia, and the inscription “Brescia > Roma > Brescia”. Inside, the automatic chronograph movement, certified chronometer, offers a power reserve of 48 hours.
Finally, rather than the perforated leather of gentleman drivers, Chopard opted for a Seaqual fiber strap, made from recycled plastic waste, to adorn this decidedly sporty and contemporary watch.

To be complete, it should be noted that Chopard’s stylistic commitment is not limited to watchmaking for these Mille Miglia 2024. The brand has also unveiled new sunglasses Classic Racing, created by De Rigo Vision and supposed to embody all the charm and emotion of “the most beautiful race in the world”.
Unsurprisingly, the aesthetic is vintage, with a precious buffalo horn structure and gold-plated metal details, while the glasses are bio-sourced. Available in Chopard boutiques and the best optical stores, these glasses perfectly complete the look of stylish drivers for the Mille Miglia and throughout the year.
