After opening its first hotel, modestly named The 1, in the autumn of 2023 on Place Vendôme, Chopard unveils a new limited edition watch inspired by this building. This L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendôme One model notably pays a magnificent tribute to the blue color that adorns the doors of the most beautiful square in the world.
Le 1, the first hotel from the Chopard House
At the end of 2023, Chopard marked a new milestone in its history by inaugurating its first hotel at 1, Place Vendôme in Paris. This is located in an emblematic building constructed in 1723 by Pierre Perrin and attached to the boutique of the famous jewelry and watchmaking house.
After purchasing the building in 2022, the Scheufele family (owners of Chopard) carefully restored it to create a setting designed to embody the timeless elegance of the Parisian house. This luxury hotel, modestly named “Le 1”, offers a unique experience with its 15 sumptuous rooms and exclusive services.
Far from the tourist hustle, this establishment aims to be intimate and blends into the architectural landscape of the square with its discreetly adorned blue doors bearing the initials “C”, symbols of Chopard. Inside, the decor also reflects the brand’s refinement with the use of beautiful materials such as bronze, brass and noble woods.

A dial of rare elegance
Such an establishment certainly deserved a watch to match, and it can be said that the master watchmakers at Chopard did not fail in designing the new L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendôme One.
Limited to only 8 copies, this 18-carat ethical gold watch stands out for its deep blue dial, inspired by the carriage doors of Place Vendôme. This blue, called Bering blue, recalls the elegance and majesty of the place while evoking the royalty under Louis XIV.

At the heart of the 40mm case, this sublime timepiece showcases a hand-guilloché dial with a honeycomb pattern and an officer-style hinged caseback engraved with a sun motif, paying tribute to Louis XIV, the instigator of the Place Vendôme. The caseback, operated by the crown, hides a sapphire crystal that reveals the ultra-thin L.U.C 96.01-L calibre, an automatic winding movement with a power reserve of 65 hours. This level of precision is certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and the Geneva Seal, guarantees of watchmaking excellence.
The bracelet that adorns the watch is of the same caliber, crafted in brown calf leather, with ecru stitches, a blue leather lining and an 18-carat yellow gold buckle. Finally, since this rare model was designed as a tribute to Chopard’s Parisian address, it is “obviously” sold exclusively in the Place Vendôme store.
