Venezianico, a brand deeply marked by Venetian history
Founded on their creators’ admiration for the rich history and culture of Venice, Venezianico embodies a perfect fusion between watchmaking passion and Venetian timeless elegance.
Behind this Italian brand, we find two brothers, Alberto and Alessandro Morelli, who started their watchmaking story on Kickstarter in 2017. Venezianico aims to reflect the territory where they grew up, a place marked by a glorious past where artistic refinement and openness to the world have shaped a unique identity over the centuries. In addition to the name whose origins are beyond doubt, the Venezianico logo is also inspired by the cross at the top of the Torre dell’Orologio, which overlooks the Piazza San Marco. This symbolizes the indissoluble link between art and science, two pillars that guided the serene republic in its quest for beauty and knowledge.
This inspiration can be seen in every creation of the brand, where the pursuit of aesthetics goes hand in hand with uncompromising technical requirements. For each new watch, Venezianico does not simply manufacture a timekeeper, but endeavours to tell a story. The tale of an eternal city and its indelible influence on the world. The new Nereide GMT perfectly embodies this philosophy. But more than just a simple tribute to the Serenissima, this limited edition of 250 pieces was conceived as a bridge between two cultures: “A tribute to the United Arab Emirates, and to the ties that have united Venice and the East for centuries.”
With its 39mm steel case, the new Nereide GMT stands out for its refined aesthetics. This timepiece is presented not only as a time measuring instrument, but also as “a window open to a world where tradition and modernity meet”.
The two-tone bezel that tops the case thus displays indications in Arabic. The dial, adorned with an arabesque geometric pattern, evokes the legends of the Thousand and One Nights, the mirages of golden deserts, and mystical arabesques. Designed like a mosaic, it is made from the best selection of mother-of-pearl, cut and colored with care before being assembled by hand to form a hypnotic pattern. Each watch is therefore unique, offering a kaleidoscopic optical effect that underlines the exceptional craftsmanship behind its design.
To power this Nereide GMT, Venezianico has used an automatic GMT Cal. Seiko NH34A movement, allowing to track two time zones simultaneously, while the anti-reflective sapphire glass and Super-LumiNova BGW9 treated indices ensure perfect readability in all circumstances. A Canova strap completes the refined aesthetic of this watch, which is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity to highlight its exclusivity and cultural importance. All this for a very affordable price, since this special edition of the Nereide is priced at 695€.
