Busy news for men who love atypical watches! After the Pegasus by Ritmo Mundo from Los Angeles, the new Techno Astronef designed by Louis Moinet is coming from Switzerland.
Watchmaking and technology coexist in a surprising way in this watch, a unique piece that will dazzle you!
Louis Moinet, a historically “unique” creator in Swiss watchmaking
Louis Moinet was not just a watchmaker, but a true pioneer, who began his activity in 1806. Yet, his modesty almost overshadowed the praises he should have received for his remarkable contributions to watchmaking. It took more than a century after his death for the world to fully recognize his achievements, including the invention of the first chronograph and the first high-frequency watch.
The story of Louis Moinet took a major turn in 2012 when Jean-Marie Schaller, driven by a call of fate, rediscovered and acquired Moinet’s famous “compteur de tierces” at an auction. This instrument, recognized as the first chronograph in the world, was officially revealed to the public on March 21, 2013. Thanks to this discovery, Louis Moinet was officially hailed for his invention, receiving the title of First Chronograph by the Guinness World Records™ organization.
Under the direction of Jean-Marie Schaller, Les Ateliers Louis Moinet in Saint-Blaise continues to protect and promote this exceptional heritage. The brand exclusively produces mechanical watches that echo the inventive spirit of Moinet, often embellished with exceptional and rare components, like extraterrestrial meteorites or prehistoric materials (a watch with a dinosaur bone!).
The cardinal values of the brand, focused on creativity, exclusivity, art and design, have allowed Louis Moinet to stand out in the world of mechanical watchmaking, winning more than 50 prestigious awards worldwide. Beyond their complexity, the brand’s watches are all produced in very limited quantities… when they are not unique pieces, as is the case with the new Techno Astronef.

The dial of the Techno Spaceship, a work of art in its own right
The design of the Techno Astronef is a visual revolution. At the heart of this 43.5 mm diameter titanium case, the two satellite tourbillons captivate the gaze with their mechanical dance, illustrating harmony between performance and aesthetics. These tourbillons, housed in cages that rotate at distinct speeds, align perfectly every 3 minutes and 20 seconds, offering a demonstration of remarkable precision.
Already exceptional in itself, this double complication is almost overshadowed by the rest of the dial. Engraved with microelectronic circuits on a silicon wafer, it transforms into a vibrant kaleidoscope of lights, reflecting a perfect fusion between watchmaking art and modern technology. This watch is not only a time-measuring instrument but an invitation to admire time itself.
Even the back of this timepiece manages to captivate the eye. The openwork bottom allows one to admire the two barrels, each dedicated to a tourbillon, as well as the different bearings of this LM 105 caliber, which provides 48 hours of power reserve. An 01/01 engraving serves as a reminder that this Techno Astronef is indeed a unique piece, while on the side, we notice that a selector replaced the traditional crown to set the time and wind the watch.

In the end, we can say that this Techno Spaceship is a celebration of history, art, and technology. It embodies the spirit of innovation that has always guided the brand, while paying tribute to its founder, Louis Moinet. This unique piece is sure to appeal to watch enthusiasts and collectors. Whether they prefer works of art or beautiful watches!
