Among all the pairs of sneakers created by Adidas throughout its history, some have left a greater mark than others. Stan Smith, Gazelle, Superstar, even Samba or Campus… All these names are well known to sneaker fans, and not only them!
But since, each year or almost, the brand with the 3 stripes tries to (re)put a particular pair in the spotlight, it also happens that we rediscover almost forgotten models. This is the case with the Bali, which Adidas wants to make the fashion reference in 2024!

A pair of sneakers born in 1977
Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti… In the 1970s, Adidas revived the concept of its City Series by launching a line of Island Series sneakers. As their name suggests, these shoes paid tribute to different islands, each with its own distinctive characteristics (particularly in terms of colors). The Bali, precisely, was born in France in 1977, drawing inspiration from the exotic landscapes and rich culture of the Indonesian island from which they take their name.
At that time, the Bali didn’t really meet the expected success with the general public. But even if they stayed in the shadow of the other most emblematic Adidas models, they were still able to count on a loyal fan base, thanks to their unique look and quality of manufacture.
The rubber sole, typical of the 70s, combined with a premium suede upper, offered a simple but sophisticated aesthetic. But since they have not been marketed for a long period, the Adidas Bali are also considered one of the hardest references to find. That probably explains why their return today is so eagerly awaited…

The Adidas Bali have never looked so beautiful!
Is the elegant simplicity of these shoes their main asset? Whatever the case, the Bali have managed to cross the decades and remain relevant in the constantly evolving world of sneakers. Because nearly 50 years after their release, they’ve never seemed so trendy!
As the brand has recently been able to do with its Campus or its Samba, Adidas has chosen to reintroduce the Bali with a version that is admittedly modernized, but retains the essence of the original. Thus, the “new Bali” still sports the characteristic gum sole, but offers better grip and durability. The suede upper is also present, but it is obviously its design “in tone-on-tone colors inspired by the islands” that makes these shoes so appealing.
These fifty shades of blue (Tactile Steel / Dark Marine / Chalk Blue), on the upper, sole, heel and laces, clearly stand out from the rest of the Bali. Recognizable at first glance, more comfortable and durable than ever, these Adidas sneakers have all the assets to forget the Samba… and the others! Available in sizes ranging from 35 to 49 at a price of €120, they are ready to seduce sneakerheads all over the world… while waiting for the reissue of other references from this cultish Island Series?
