The story of the Respire brand
The story of Respire is intimately tied to that of its founder, Justine Hutteau. In 2017, doctors diagnosed her with a benign breast tumor. As unsettling as it was, the event primarily leads the young woman to question her daily life habits. Exercise, diet, but also cosmetics: “I realize the importance of taking care of myself.”
In order to pamper her skin, Justine Hutteau then starts the search for a brand that could do her good. One that would truly take care of her. And, since she doesn’t find what she’s looking for, she makes the same decision as other entrepreneurs faced with a similar situation: she decides to create her own brand, one that would perfectly meet her needs and expectations.
She then surrounds herself with a team of experts to develop her cosmetics range. Based on the principle that “our skin is the best laboratory”, she imagines a range of products inspired by the very powers of our skin. Thus the natural mimetic Respire care products are born, supposed to “boost the actives and mechanisms naturally present in the skin, while preserving its natural function”. An important, if not essential term in the brand’s communication, which it emphasizes over and over again.
But this approach finds an echo and the first Respire care, a natural deodorant, quickly finds its audience. Supported by flattering word-of-mouth, especially on social networks (and a stint on M6 in Who Wants to be my Partner in 2020), the brand continues its development. Today, Respire offers a complete range of body products, ranging from deodorant to shampoos, as well as toothpaste and other care for the body and face.
Our opinion on Respire
In the wake of Horace or Unbottled, for example, Respire is a cosmetic brand that we recommend without any hesitation.
Even though we were initially skeptical about the brand’s communication (which is very active online), we can’t help but applaud their overall approach, the development of a range of natural care products and their clear commitment to transparency regarding the composition of their products. Although they do not have organic certification, Respire offers 100% vegan formulas and all their packaging is recyclable.
Beyond the marketing aspect, the products are also effective and enjoyable to use (special mention for the deodorant and solid care products), with prices similar to those of the competition.

The best products from Respire
As mentioned, the first product developed by Respire was a deodorant. Even today, it remains a staple in the range, with the brand going so far as to claim that it is “recognized by millions of customers across Europe as the most effective natural deodorant on the market”.
The roll-on is very pleasant, fresh and effective, but the real best-seller is the certified organic solid deodorant. Monoï, cotton flower or eucalyptus: freshness and softness are on the menu!
