Which type of barbecue to choose?
From the traditional charcoal barbecue to the gas barbecue, and including the electric one, there is now a wide range of models, from the cheapest to the most expensive. Which type of barbecue meets your needs?
- If you’re looking for an easy-to-use barbecue, go for a gas barbecue. You can light it very easily and adjust the power according to your needs. In addition, its maintenance is minimal apart from regular cleaning.

- For a more authentic taste, choose a charcoal barbecue. It will take a bit longer to heat up but the result will be worth it.

- The electric barbecue is the most expensive but also the most practical: you can use it indoors as well as outdoors, it heats up quickly and evenly, however, it can be more difficult to clean than others.

- Finally, the pellet barbecue is gradually developing in France, particularly through the brand Traeger, it is an ecological barbecue since it uses pellets (compressed wood) as fuel, and easily allows for slow cooking or smoking.

A safe barbecue
But whatever model you choose, there are some precautions to take to prevent your festive barbecue from becoming a nightmare.
- Set up your barbecue in a stable place and sheltered from the wind. If it’s mounted on wheels, remember to lock them;
- Never leave it unattended, especially if there are children nearby;
- Avoid lighting your barbecue with liquid ignition products;
- Important! Keep a bucket of water, a fire extinguisher, or a fire blanket close to the barbecue;
- Regarding food hygiene, to avoid cross-contamination between raw and cooked foods, use two different dishes.
The choice of food for a barbecue
There are no restrictions, all foods are suitable for barbecue cooking: meats, fish, vegetables but also fruits. The must for a full-flavor experience: marinades. Prepare them the day before so the meat or fish can fully absorb the various aromas.
For those who like sweet and savory, you can try the rose syrup + garlic blend or the caramel (or honey) + garlic + cherry vinegar blend. During cooking, the meat will be deliciously caramelized. Finally, last but not least: barbecue cooking is particularly healthy because it helps to eliminate some of the fats from fatty meats (provided you pierce them), but always be careful not to burn the meat, as this can become harmful.
