The night has always inspired Venezianico. This was seen with his Nereide collection, sometimes inspired by the 1001 nights, sometimes by a starry sky. This time, the Italian brand pays a wonderful tribute to Venice with its Redentore Bellanotte watch, whose dial evokes the traditional Feast of the Redeemer.
Venezianico, the Venetian history in its DNA
Founded by Alberto and Alessandro Morelli, Venezianico draws its inspiration from the soul of Venice. It even carries the city of Doges in its DNA, in its name.
If it was only created in 2017, the brand is already recognized beyond Italian borders for its elegant and sophisticated watches, incorporating the essence of the Serenissima into each creation or so. Venezianico has particularly forged a solid reputation thanks to its Nereide collection, inspired by the depths of the sea and Venetian myths.
And since each model tells the story of Venice’s rich cultural and historical wealth, the new Redentore Bellanotte is obviously no exception. As its name suggests, this watch pays tribute to the Feast of the Redeemer, an iconic event for Venetians, celebrated every year in July to mark the end of the devastating plague of 1576-1577.
The dial of the Redentore Bellanotte, a 4-level work of art
The Redentore Bellanotte stands out with an exceptionally striking design and rare elegance. Classic, its 316L steel case of 40mm in diameter and 11.5mm thick exudes robustness and elegance. But one does not need to be an expert in haute horlogerie to understand that it’s the dial of this watch that truly captures attention.
Calling it a work of art is (for once!) not an overstatement, as this four-level dial has been given special care. It all begins with a starry sky in aventurine, followed by a small off-center dial in white mother-of-pearl, representing the moon and surrounded by a ring of polished steel. The eye can then linger on a satin disk illustrating the fireworks of the Redentore Feast, while the background presents a rhodium-plated bas-relief of the Doge’s Palace and the Basilica of the Redeemer. This ensemble creates a hypnotic effect, reproducing the magic of Piazza San Marco at night.
Under this poetic painting, and behind the richly engraved background, the Redentore Bellanotte lives to the rhythm of the Seiko NH05 micro-automatic movement, equipped with approximately 40h of power reserve.
To complete this array tinted with elegance, Venezianico has chosen an onion-shaped crown, harmonious horns and a natural leather strap (with vegetable tanning), handmade in Italy by Tuscan artisans. It will also be possible to opt for a steel bracelet for a more assertive look.
Only 500 copies of this Redentore Bellanotte will be offered by Venezianico starting from June 26, 2024. Available for pre-order, the watch sees its starting price set at 700 euros. A very honest investment if one trusts the usual quality of the Venetian brand.
