Just because we don’t see them doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be chosen with taste. We’re talking about underwear, of course! In constant contact with your skin, closest to the parts of you that are most precious, your underwear pieces must be pleasant to wear, soft, comfortable… but also pretty, all things considered! And not all brands are created equal in this little game.
Also, we have decided to give you an overview of the major brands of men’s underwear. Whether you prefer briefs, boxers or trunks, you will surely find your happiness in this list!

Our opinion on underwear from generalist brands
You won’t have missed it, the men’s ready-to-wear brands all (or almost all) offer underwear collections. From Jules to Devred, via H&M, Monoprix or Uniqlo, there is only an abundance of choice. The main advantage of these items: they are not expensive. The downside: they wear out relatively quickly.
Among these brands, some manage to stand out. Notably, we’re thinking of Levi’s, Celio, Gant or Superdry.
Many men still turn to Diesel, Emporio Armani, Calvin Klein or Tommy Hilfiger for their boxers. Again, the fits are pretty good, the materials are soft… but given the price offered, we expect better. Our Swiss friends at Babista also offer a range of men’s underwear to check out.
Finally, Amazon has also recently been trying to make a place for itself in this market (and in fashion, generally speaking). It is in its Amazon Essentials brand that we find several models of boxers and briefs. The price is very attractive (around 25 euros for a pack of 5) and the quality is similar to that of H&M, roughly speaking. So expect to have to replenish your stock quite regularly!

And the big brands of men’s lingerie?
In this category, we will discuss the brands that necessarily come to mind when talking about men’s underwear: Dim, Athena, HOM…
Dim, notably, is the brand that enjoys the best recognition. Very present in the media, it offers a very wide range. Count approximately ten euros for a basic boxer that will offer a basic result: a not crazy cut, a sometimes rough cotton, and elastics that tend to stretch quickly (like at Find). The models in the Sport range prove to be more durable and offer good support: these are clearly the ones to favor at Dim.
To talk about Athena, we could copy-paste the previous paragraph. The prices are even a bit lower on some models and the quality is clearly comparable. However, we must be objective: given the rates practiced, we should not expect more. Athena, just like Dim, do the job and that’s already quite good!
In this trio, HOM is perhaps the brand that fares the best! The offer is not very different from its direct competitors, but the quality is there. It rarely disappoints… and the brand dares (still!) to add a bit of originality to its collections! Finally, just for a change, we will add a fourth brand to this podium: Eminence, which always provides nice work. And in addition to being well-tailored, these undergarments are made in France!

Finally, one could not overlook the most sought-after brands of the younger generation, those which offer boxers that sometimes hurt the eyes but have the merit of putting a little originality in underwear. Freegun and No Publik make entry level pieces that appeal to teens (and footballers). Their microfiber pieces do not provide the same support as others made of cotton, but the freedom of movement they offer is not unpleasant at the same. It’s a matter of taste.
In this category, however, we would tend to recommend the lycra printed boxers from Stance and especially those from Pull-In, equally original, but much better finished. However, this quality has a cost: 40 euros per boxer!

Our 10 Favorite Men’s Underwear Brands
Alongside the “mass-market” brands mentioned above, recent years have seen a proliferation of new men’s underwear brands. Some focus on the elegance of well-cut briefs, while others prioritize the fit of a neat boxer or much more original pieces. Proof that the men’s underwear market is booming!
1. The French Slip
To every lord, all honor! Among the many French brands that offer quality men’s underwear, let’s honor the one that has made it its name: Le Slip Français is perhaps the best underwear brand in Hexagon. There, it’s said! In addition, prices have been halved on some models to better respond to demand: a double good reason to support the brand!

2. Petrone
High-end at an affordable price: this is what the Petrone Paris brand intends to offer. Behind the beautiful facade speech, the products keep all their promises.
Manufactured in Portugal, Petrone underwear offers unparalleled comfort. This is especially true for the brand’s flagship piece, the seamless boxer, in a cotton and Tencel blend. If we add to this quality a practice of decreasing prices (25€ each, 70€ for 4), it is clear that this French brand really has everything to please!

3. Hanro
Elegant and comfortable. Simple and effective. The Swiss brand insists on simplicity for its briefs and boxers. But above all, quality, with flawless cuts and materials, all for about twenty euros. Founded in 1884, the house of Hanro of Switzerland still has many good days ahead of it.

4. Zimmerli
Like Hanro, Zimmerli is a brand that was born in the 19th century. And like Hanro, it is on the Swiss side that we find these high-end collections. Alongside the traditional cotton models, there are particularly chic silk boxers and briefs. But luxury means high prices: about 80 euros.

5. Schiesser
Never 2 without 3! Like the previous two, Schiesser is a century-old house, born in the second half of the 19th century (in 1875 to be exact). And like its Swiss neighbors, the German brand offers superb models of briefs, boxers, and trunks. The icing on the cake, the first models are available for less than 20 euros!

6. Arthur
Originally, Arthur was aimed at children and babies! But today, men (and women!) also have their say. The French brand will particularly appeal to lovers of colorful underpants, but the collection also welcomes quality boxers. As for the price, you should count 30 to 40 euros depending on the chosen model.
And to further persuade you, let’s not forget that Arthur is also among the best swimwear brands for us currently!

7. Björn Borg
Sweden is definitely a land of underwear. In addition to Happy Socks, Björn Borg is the other brand that deserves your attention. Born in the 1980s, its founder is none other than the tennis player who gave it his name.
As a result, the collection heavily features sports models: but between the sober and monochrome models and the more colorful ones, Bjorn Borg caters to all men.

8. Derek Rose
The Derek Rose brand is almost a century old! Born in Great Britain in 1926, it specializes in men’s loungewear. In addition to underwear, Derek Rose offers pajamas, bathrobes and swimsuits that are as stylish as they are comfortable.
If some boxer models are available for around 40 euros, the “luxury” positioning sees the prices of the most beautiful boxers approach 150 euros.

9. McAlson
As its name more or less indicates, McAlson is a brand specializing in underwear. And especially a Belgian brand! To please all men, it combines “the English preppy look, Italian refinement, the French je-ne-sais-quoi, and Belgian surrealism”. A melting pot that results in fresh, colorful and comfortable pieces. The extra touch: an invisible jockstrap that gives the underwear the appearance of boxers. Clever!

10. Impetus
If she is the last on our list, it is not in order of preference, quite the contrary: Impetus is indeed one of our favorite underwear brands at the moment. The combination of style, elegance, and comfort. A feel as soft as a second skin. These are the promises made by the Impetus brand and it must be acknowledged… that it perfectly fulfills them!
Its products are notably very comfortable for practicing sports and even its swimsuits are worth a look. From there to say that it’s one of the best men’s underwear brands today, it’s only a short step!

Of course, we do not claim to offer a comprehensive list here: Saxx, Haro, Sunspel, Ben Sherman, Under Armour, Cocorico, Sloggi, Moskova or even Dagobear are not included in this top 10 but are unquestionably among the best underwear brands for men!
