No dial or hands, but a six-figure price for the new Hublot watch!

Hublot turns a deaf ear to those who accuse it of overdoing it! After the multiple, sometimes brightly colored, variations of its Big Bang Unico, the astonishing MP-13 unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2023 or the mind-blowing MP-15 developed with Takashi Murakami, the Swiss brand once again makes a splash at LVMH Watch Week 2024.

In Miami, Hublot unveils an incredible watch worth 275,000 euros. The peculiar thing about this MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System ? It doesn’t have a dial, hands or oscillating weight.

Already one of the most amazing watches of the year!

At Hublot, “MP” stands for “Masterpiece”. Masterpiece in English. And it’s clear that this new MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System stands out in many ways.

Perfectly embodying the avant-garde spirit of the brand, it offers a most atypical reading of the time. Here, no dial or hands (not even an oscillating weight!), but constantly rotating displays and a development that took 5 years of R&D! 592 components were necessary for the creation of this timepiece unlike any other.

At the heart of the 54.1 x 41.5 mm titanium case (with a thickness of 22.4 mm!), 4 rollers appear that could potentially disorient us. However, the reading remains quite fluid: the hours and minutes appear in the upper third of the “dial” topped with an invisible magnifying glass. The lower third, on the other hand, showcases the tourbillon cage, on which the seconds are indicated. And between the two, the circular power reserve consists of a very explicit red and green two-color disc.

Since the time is read in a “vertical” way, this Hublot watch could not be powered by a traditional movement. The MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System therefore does without an oscillating weight, in favor of a verticalized weight, a HUB9013 caliber composed of two gray gold blocks that move freely to rewind the movement bidirectionally (for a power reserve of 66 hours). The link between watchmaking and engineering is sometimes very thin!

Dressed in a structured black rubber bracelet, this new “masterpiece” will only be produced in 50 numbered copies. Its price, however, is set at 275,000 euros.

The other new features of Hublot at the LVMH Watch Week 2024

The new number 10 of the Hublot team is well surrounded at the LVMH Watch Week. The Nyon manufacture has also brought to Miami a new colorful duo created in collaboration with Richard Orlinski, the best-selling French artist in the world. The Classic Fusion Tourbillon Orlinski is adorned with either a striking solar yellow or a more delicate pastel blue. The 45mm diameter case features sharp angles that seem to have been sculpted by Orlinski himself.

At its heart, rather than the dial, it’s the HUB6021 movement that takes center stage, its components seemingly suspended in mid-air, echoing the tourbillon located at 6 o’clock. Light also plays a prominent role in the visual aspect of this model, passing through the sapphire glass from back to front, resulting in a truly beautiful display.

In 2024, Hublot also continues to explore the possibilities offered by Saxem, particularly in terms of colors. This innovative material, as resistant as sapphire but even more brilliant, has already been available in neon yellow and emerald since 2019. This time, it’s an intense green that dresses the Big Bang Unico Green Saxem while jewelry meets watchmaking with the six new variations of the Spirit of Big Bang 32mm.

The King Gold (an in-house 18-carat alloy) comes in a variety of finishes for a gold, silver, or even rainbow look on this feminine collection, which once again proves that Hublot is comfortable in all areas… and isn’t afraid to dazzle us!
